Greg Van Avermaet is the only Belgian who will participate in the Tour de France for CCC this season. The Polish WorldTour team, which will stop at the end of the season, does not count on the experienced Serge Pauwels.

From next Saturday at the Grand Départ in Nice, Van Avermaet will be joined by the Italians Matteo Trentin and Alessandro De Marchi, the Czech Jan Hirt, the Germans Simon Geschke and Jonas Koch, the Russian Ilnur Zakarin and the Swiss Michael Schär. The Olympic champion must ensure stage victories together with Trentin. Zakarin can take his chance in the general classification.
Serge Pauwels had suffered from a viral infection for a while in the past month and is not selected. There is also no place in the Tour team for other fellow countrymen such as Nathan Van Hooydonck, Gijs Van Hoecke and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck.
