The woman (45) came to bet: What she learned during the lottery took her breath away!
Gregory Jarvis was found dead on a beach in Caseville on Saginaw Bay on Friday, a week and a half after he won the jackpot. However, he did not have the Social Security card needed in Michigan to pay more than $ 600, so he applied for a new one. In the meantime, however, there was a tragedy, the ABC12 news station reported.
He learned about the win on September 13 at the Blue Water Inn. He returned here a few days later and bought a few drinks to celebrate his victory. But then he didn’t show up longer than usual, and business owner Dawn Talaski became concerned. “He hasn’t been here all week and we thought something was wrong,” he explained. On September 22, his boss also came to the bar to look for him, because Jarvis did not show up for work.
The body washed ashore
Two years later, a resident of Caseville, who lives on a private beach, called the police because a body washed ashore near the boat. Police confirmed that it was Jarvis’s and that the boat also belonged to him. An autopsy revealed that he had hit his head before drowning.
When police found a winning lot in his wallet, they began a larger investigation, but concluded that it was not a suspicious death. “We think he tied up the boat, slipped and fell, hit his head and ended up in the water.” said Caseville Police Chief Kyle Romzek. “At first we were interested in it (the lottery), but after the autopsy and talking to the people in the bar, we found out that he was popular everywhere, he was a nice guy, so it disappeared from the table.”
The winning ticket was handed over to Jarvis’ relative. “He planned to collect the money and go see his sister and father in North Carolina,” said the owner of the bar Talaski.
