Greetings like Karo People’s Heroes Who Met Jokowi for Neat Streets

Residents from Melas Datas, Karo, North Sumatra (Sumut), who met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was greeted like a hero when he returned to his hometown. They went to the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, to ask for road repairs with a truckload of oranges.

The news of the return of a number of residents who met President Jokowi was conveyed, said resident of Liang Melas Datas, Ina Warin-angin, to reporters, Sunday (12/12/2021). They returned to Karo on last Saturday.

“It’s arrived, last night arrived at the village at 08.00 WIB,” said Ina.

Arriving at Liang Melas, a number of residents had flowers around their necks. According to Ina, this was intended as a form of respect for them because they were considered to be heroes of the village.

“Celebrating with flowers. Happy, grateful they returned to the village in good health. They are indeed one of the heroes for our village,” said Ina.

Ina said they were willing to travel long distances by car to fight for the needs of the residents of Kampung Melas Datas.

“Fighting to Jakarta by car to fight for the village,” said Ina.

Karo Residents Bring Orange Trucks to the Palace

As is well known, a number of residents of Karo act for the sake of the road in his hometown neat. One truckload of oranges was sent to President Jokowi.

Those who met Jokowi were residents from Liang Melas Datas, Karo, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), who met Jokowi with a truckload of oranges.

“Hopefully it will get your attention, Liang Melas Village, because the road conditions are a bit difficult. With us delivering souvenirs, maybe later it can be of concern to you,” said one of the community leaders of Liang Melas Datas, Setia Sembiring, while dispatching citrus fruits in Medan, Friday (12/3/2021).

Jokowi himself has heard of this problem before. Jokowi uploaded the moment when Karo residents sent a truck of oranges.

“I had a guest from North Sumatra this afternoon. Six residents of Liang Melas Datas, Karo Regency, brought many souvenirs: a truckload of oranges for me. The residents came to express their aspirations regarding damaged roads in their area that had an impact in six villages and three hamlets in Liang Melas Datas,” Jokowi said on his official Instagram, Tuesday (7/17/2021).
