Greetings from François Sauvadet, President of the Departmental Council of the Côte-d’Or

“Resisting and tackling together, this is our roadmap for 2023. Even as daily obstacles increase, we must keep hope”

“At the beginning of the year, which takes place in a difficult context, I wish every Côte-d’Orien my best wishes for health and happiness. I have a very special thought for those who are faced with life’s difficulties and I wish to assure them of the Department’s sympathy.

Holding on and tackling together, this is our roadmap for 2023. Even as daily hurdles mount, we must keep hope. The crises we are going through are tests that pave the way for other possible destinies. I also salute the courage, determination and dynamism of the Côte-d’Oriens who are committed, our entrepreneurs and their employees, our artisans, our farmers, our public service agents, our associations… who demonstrate , continuously adapting and innovating to meet the challenges of the present and the future. I would also like to greet everyone participating in this united Côte-d’Or that is close to our hearts.

Our first objective is to support each Côte-d’Orien at all stages of its life. It is to allow everyone to see a future where they have decided to live and to offer them all the conditions to prosper. And to be proud of your department because every Côte-d’Orien must be its ambassador.

We have made the choice of quality of life, a balance between town and country with enhanced support for territorial projects through our Marshall Plan for the Gold Coast which will mobilize 150 million euros by 2028. We support our sports associations and cultural , in order to encourage volunteering throughout the Côte d’Or and promote the vitality of our towns and villages.

We continue to invest in the strategies of the future, meeting the challenges of energy, climate and digital transitions. We have brought the ultra-high-speed handle everywhere in Côte d’Or and the implementation will be completed in 2023. We ensure mobility, which is inseparable from regional development and its attractiveness. We will invest almost 30 million euros to maintain our 5,600 km of departmental roads and our facilities, with priority on increasingly safer roads. We are also investing in soft mobility with the aim of 1,000 km of cycle paths in the Côte-d’Or.

To support the local economy and employment, three years ago we launched the “Savoir-Faire 100% Côte-d’Or” brand, which has since met with increasing success. Our brand brings together more than 300 producers, breeders, artisans, traders and restaurateurs engaged in a process of relocating our food and contributing to the attractiveness of our territories.

Despite the difficulties, we must have faith in the future. Each of us is an actor.
With conviction and determination, I will continue to play my full role and believe in our beautiful Côte-d’Or and all the Côte-d’Oriens that give it life. I give you my best wishes! »

Francois SAUVADET
