With a big smile, Groenen is training with Orange again

Jackie Groenen poses with a big smile and two thumbs up for a photo. After a corona infection, the Orange international is complaint-free, tested negative and is therefore back on the field. She joins the training of the Dutch national team again today.

Five days ago, the midfielder tested positive for the corona virus, just after the important group match against Sweden (1-1), in which Greens excelled.

Two days after Groenen’s positive test, top striker Vivianne Miedema was also infected. Her status has not yet been disclosed. After the game against Sweden, several players visited their family and friends, the Orange camp tightened the corona rules the following days.

Full infirmary
The infirmary of Orange was quite full with the infections of Groenen and Miedema and injuries of Sari van Veenendaal (shoulder) and Aniek Nouwen (ankle). On Thursday it became clear that Nouwen can train again.

Now that Groenen is back, Miedema is left alone in the infirmary. Van Veenendaal returned permanently to the Netherlands.

The last group match of Orange is scheduled for Sunday, against Switzerland. A draw is enough to reach the next round of the European Championship.
