Greenpeace sprayed oil tankers in Bremen with peace slogans: “Peace

Bremen. An oil freighter with Russian oil was sprayed with peace slogans on the way to the port of Bremen on the Weser. Greenpeace activists approached the 200-meter-long ship from three inflatable boats on Monday and sprayed the words “Peace – not oil” on the tanker, as the police reported in the evening.

“It’s unbelievable that Germany is financing Putin’s war because it imports millions worth of oil from Russia every day,” said Marion Tiemann of Greenpeace. “The federal government and Europe must turn off the money supply to Putin and stop imports of oil, coal and gas from Russia.”

The water police moved out with several ships because of the action. Small sports boats are always extremely dangerous and forbidden in the harbor basin of an industrial port, since large freighters can dock at any time, it was said.

The oil tanker, which sailed under the German flag, docked without further incident in the industrial port, where other people in smaller boats and six kayaks had gathered and protested with banners. Police officers recorded their personal details, and there were also administrative offense reports.
