Greenpeace Forms the hashtag ‘Dare to be honest to fire’ at the KPK building

JawaPos.com – The Civil Society Coalition held an action against the weakening of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The action was carried out at around 18.30 WIB by highlighting the KPK’s Red and White Building with a laser projector that read ‘Dare to be Honest to Fire’. There are also other writings such as ‘Motion of No Confidence’, ‘Save KPK’ and several other articles.

Greenpeace Indonesia campaigner Asep Komaruddin said the action was held as a form of support for the KPK’s performance. He considered that the KPK, which is now led by Firli Bahuri, was greatly weakened.

“A number of messages are projected in the KPK building tonight, voicing the struggle for justice for 51 KPK employees who were disabled due to being declared not to have passed the National Insight Test. It also conveys a message to save this anti-corruption agency from the clutches of the oligarchs,” Asep confirmed, Monday (28/6).

According to Asep, the transition of the status of a KPK employee to a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) with the condition that they pass TWK is an effort to weaken the KPK. Moreover, the result will be the dismissal of 51 KPK employees, including Novel Baswedan and other best KPK investigators.

“It is strongly suspected that this controversial test was a proposal from the current Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri. A number of civil society organizations consider that the test submitted as one of the requirements to appoint KPK employees to become ASN is a procedural flaw,” said Asep.

According to Asep, efforts to weaken the KPK are not only happening at this time. However, this process has been going on since the revision of the KPK Law, until the controversial election of Firli Bahuri as the Chair of the KPK.
