Among the few films released during the complex period of the pandemic was Greenland, film starring Gerard Butler and Morena Beccarin. An apocalyptic drama that hypothesizes a global disaster, the film tells the story of a father who tries to save his family.
Although originally the protagonist of Greenland was supposed to be Chris Evans, the actor he decided to abandon the project together with the director who had initially been tasked with making the film. However, the split production did not lead to the project being archived but to its rebirth this time in a film starring one of the stars par excellence who has been working, for years now, in films in which the characters their only goal is to survive.
Starting from a meteor shower, Greenland does nothing but tell the consequences of a natural catastrophe that could result in the extinction of the human race. In the meantime, the military bodies are trying to start sending many citizens into some bunkers to wait for the threat to subside. Most of the film follows the attempts of the protagonists to save his wife and son suffering from diabetes. As always happens in films of this type, they manage to save themselves at the last minute thanks to the intervention of some military vehicles after a crash in Greenland. Only after 9 months, the emergency will begin to subside allowing people to exit the bunkers.
