The commitment of the Carabinieri and the environmental security guards unit of the Kronos Academy continues in the fight against poaching in the province of Salerno. Yet another joint operation that began at the crack of dawn was completed last week in the territory of Tight through targeted checks in risk areas. Precisely during one of these checks, three people were noticed hunting with the aid of an acoustic call that reproduced the sound of the thrush.
After a long observation, a precise control was activated of the three people in hunting exercise, from which they attempted to escape but, also to hide the acoustic signal. A vain attempt as one of the three people was immediately noticed trying to hide the call among the vegetation. Having recovered the recall and also had the support of the soldiers of the Carabinieri Station Command of Serre, the personnel involved initially proceeded with the administrative control of the documents and then of the weapons and ammunition. Precisely this last activity made it possible to ascertain that one of the three hunters was hunting with the aid of a 12 Cal semi-automatic rifle, without the classic reducer which brings the number of shots in the magazine to a maximum of two as required by law, thus managing to use more than three shots.
Following what was ascertained, the soldiers and the AK Security Guards, once they arrived at the barracks, proceeded with the seizure of the weapons, ammunition, acoustic call and game for hunting with the aid of an acoustic call because following the removal of the reducer, had in fact altered the mechanics of the rifle in order to increase its potential.
