New bottles made from 100% recycled materials for its natural health products will be developed by the Swiss Laboratory, which is located on Nobel Street, in the Boucherville industrial park.
Concerned about the impact of plastic waste on the environment, the company is taking concrete action to reduce its ecological footprint with this greener packaging. In doing so, it places itself among the eco-responsible leaders in the field of natural health products.
With the gradual introduction of these new bottles on the market, Laboratoire Suisse aims to market a proportion of 50% of its products in packaging made from recycled materials by the end of 2021. Not only this news bottles are more ecological, but they also come from a Quebec supplier, are made in Canada and are bottled in the facilities of the Swiss Laboratory in Boucherville.
The company thus encourages local procurement for its packaging, which stimulates the Quebec economy and reduces the ecological footprint of its products. Several products from Laboratoire Suisse are already available online and in pharmacies in these new ecological bottles, including the majority of its range of probiotics. The “ECO bottle made from recycled materials” logo was developed to allow consumers to easily spot these products when shopping.
The choice of Laboratoire Suisse to offer ecological packaging and to promote local procurement is part of a serious and thoughtful environmental approach.
The Boucherville company is currently reviewing all facets of its activities and the concrete actions that can be implemented to reduce its ecological footprint. Its environmental approach revolves around three themes of interest, namely ecological packaging, local manufacturing and packaging, and continuous improvement.
To anchor its environmental approach, Swiss Laboratory has set specific targets and has already taken concrete actions to achieve them. By 2025, it commits in particular to: marketing 75% of products in ecological packaging; remove the majority of cardboard boxes for products already packaged in a plastic bottle; favor local suppliers when possible.
