Dr. Peter Schorling has been appointed Managing Partner of Greenberg Traurig in Germany with effect from February 1, 2021. Since the opening of the Berlin office in 2015, the attorney has headed the firm’s German corporate team, which now comprises 20 lawyers. He mainly advises in the areas of M&A, corporate law and real estate law and accompanies private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.
As a managing partner, he wants to lead the way that his predecessor Dr. Christian Schede will continue on course and expand the location in Berlin and the networking with the other locations, said Schorling. The law firm will concentrate on its clients “in international legal markets and future-oriented industries”. Another focus is the promotion and entrepreneurial training of the next generation.
Schede, who has headed Greenberg Traurig Germany since the firm’s entry into the German market, will become Co-Chair of the global Real Estate practice group – he is the first European in this position. The real estate lawyer is also one of two Europeans who sit on Greenberg Traurig’s Global Executive Committee.
