Green Lantern stars in the sixth installment of the DC Comics collection – Music and Books – Culture

Green Lantern: Secret Origin is a story arc of the dc comics, written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Ivan Reis.

Modernize the origin story of the first Green Lantern Corps member to come from Earth, Hal Jordan, for purposes of New Earth continuity.
Secret Origin introduced Abin Sur, the Green Lantern who passes his ring to Hal Jordan, as well as Sinestro in his role as Green Lantern, before becoming an iconic villain.

Also, and this is noteworthy, he introduced Atrocitus, a new villain who would become key in the history of Green Lantern and especially in the history of Blackest Night.
The powers of the Green Lanterns, not only of Jordan, are derived from their rings of power, which in the hands of someone capable of overcoming their fears allow them to create all kinds of constructions. And I mean literally any guy, because the limit of the ring is the imagination and willpower of its wearer.

We suggest: <How to watch the 4 hours of 'The League of Justice' without fainting?

As it is, Jordan can fly, even through the vacuum of space; his ring can create shields, swords and even his suit, which many would understandably take for a combination of white, black and green, is made up of a range of greens and is, like all ring constructions, as strong as it makes it to be who wears it.
The strength of Secret Origin is due to the talent of Geoff Johns. That writer manages to take this title to new heights with Green Lantern: Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War and the aforementioned Blackest Night, among others.

Johns took the time to rework Jordan’s origin with the Secret Origin storyline, adding things of his own making while enhancing what was always there.

With Hal Jordan As a storyteller, we have the opportunity to look back at his beginnings, visiting the moment of his father’s death and reviewing the impact it had on him and his family.

Of course, we also see the Green Lantern Abin Sur, who transports the criminal Atrocitus, future leader of the Red Lantern Corps, on his ship. The very fact that he uses a ship and does not fly powered by the force of his ring reveals to us that Abin Sur has begun to succumb to doubt and fear.

From the first moment, Johns shows us what inspires Hal and what makes him someone capable of overcoming a great fear. He is not irresponsible like the one played by Ryan Reynolds, he is a man who lost his father and now feels that he has nothing to lose. That commitment immediately carries over to his fledgling role in the Green Lantern Corps.

Johns does everything quickly, with the confidence and skill of a writer who is extremely comfortable with his characters by now and knows where he is going.
Hal offers the right balance of arrogance and heroic attributes that makes it possible to relate to the character, especially when his gaze of the universe puts him in open confrontation with the Guardians, in a very real and well-written dynamic, which again, brings to the building your friendship and future rivalry with Sinestro.

That phenomenal work benefits from the art of Ivan Reis, one of the greatest comic book artists of recent years, whose pencil perfectly captures the majestic, almost divine elements that make these heroes work so well.
