Graz (14 August 2024).- To honour the outstanding achievements in the past season – championship title in the Bundesliga and ÖFB Cup victory – the governor Christopher Drexler and Deputy Governor Anton Lang today, Wednesday (14.8.2024), SK Sturm Graz will be hosting a summer reception in the Orangery in Graz’s Burggarten. “The great successes that SK Sturm has been able to celebrate in recent months are the result of hard, consistent work. The team around President Christian Jauk has simply delivered highly professional performances and impressively left the strong competition behind. Congratulations on the outstanding season and on a piece of Styrian football history. An incredible success that Styria can only be proud of,” agreed Governor Christopher Drexler and Deputy Governor Anton Lang.
Of course, the focus is already on the near future. The championship has started again and international challenges await. With the championship title, SK Sturm and coach Christian Ilzer the dream of qualifying for the Champions League has come true. The “Blackies” have already been represented in the Champions League three times, in the 1998/1999, 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 seasons, and played their way to the top of the league under the legendary coach Ivica Osim into the European spotlight.
