While Bien Public posted a headline last Wednesday headlined “ Lenses: soon a state intervention ? “, the real novelty of the last city council is not the threat of eviction of Lentillères, but the return to the urbanization project of part of the District.
The municipal council of June 27 was to vote on the annual report of the SPLAAD – the development company in charge of the Ecocity Jardins des Maraîchers. It is a financial statement, but it allows each year to see the progress of the project since to quantify the costs, the SPLAAD briefly presents the state of past and future urbanization.
In his latest report [1]in December 2020, we could see that all the urbanization of the part concerning the Lentillères had been suspended:

In the balance sheet presented on June 27, 2022 [2]the Splaad reintroduces two hectares of urbanization to the east of Lentillères:

This two-hectare urbanization directly threatens the fields of major crops, around thirty small gardens, the bakery, the land of BMXthe future popular canteen of the district, as well as different places of residence such as the sun, the love juice, Ali Baba and several huts.

This significant setback compared to the first declarations of Rebsamen, which announced the withdrawal of 8 hectares from the urbanization, was done without the slightest opposition from the various elected officials claiming to be green.
Fabien Robert, for the group “ Ecology for all who joined the municipal majority said:
« We are delighted with this deliberation which records an evolution of the urban planning project of the Jardin des Maraîchers ecocity by non-urbanization of a significant part of section 2. »
The strange formula of non-urbanization of a significant part of tranche 2 is directly borrowed from François Rebsmanen and Pierre Pribetich, who have used it in various public statements over the past year. This is just a positive way of talking about the new project, thus avoiding naming the destruction of two hectares.
As for Stéphanie Modde, elected from the group of ecologists and citizens, she is far too preoccupied with self-satisfaction to consider the interests of the Lentillères.
If she begins by asking Rebsamen for the deadlines and the footprint of the part planned for the urbanization (she will not get any answer), she does not issue any criticism of this urbanization. In a second intervention, she will only underline her satisfaction at seeing the possibility of a dialogue between the town hall and the Lentillères by presenting herself as a precursor of this incredible idea…
« I am very, very satisfied with what I hear, and with the idea of a lease. If you remember well in 2013 I had already talked about a lease, I had met them at the time so we were a bit of a precursor but you have to be a precursor sometimes, it helps to find solutions and I am very satisfied. »
And while she concentrates all her attention on taking credit for the present situation, she will achieve the fine score of holding a position almost more reactionary than Rebsamen, by reintroducing a difference between “ zadists » et « people who want to continue », and emphasizing that if the town hall had taken care of the situation more quickly there would be less self-construction and caravans.
« And so to say that in this place there are not only zadists, there are also people who want to continue, and I welcome the fact that currently there is an outline of discussion and I reiterate this that I said in the metropolitan council, the fact that it was indeed necessary to find a pacifist and concerted solution to this place which had the merit of being cultivated, and under conditions that it is perhaps necessary to find other and can -maybe we would also have a little less self-construction – even if some of them are very interesting – in any case maybe a little less caravans if the subject had been taken seriously a few years ago. »
At a time when two hectares of the life of the Lentillères find themselves more threatened than ever, with all the essential activities that have developed on it, the ecologists will have to do more than welcome the return of concrete, denigrate the zads and s worry about self-construction if they want to have an ounce of credibility with all those who fight against the concreting of Dijon land.
