“Green Bay Packers’ Matt LaFleur Lowers Anticipations for Jordan Love in the NFL”

When it comes to quarterbacks, Green Bay Packers fans are spoiled for choice.

After years of leading the offense in Wisconsin, Brett Favre handed the baton to Aaron Rodgers. Both are multiple MVPs.

Now, in all likelihood, Jordan Love will take over the reins. Footsteps are big for the Utah State man. Accordingly, head coach Matt LaFleur wants to take the pressure of expectations off the young playmaker.

Rodgers-level love? “We would be stupid to assume that”

At the annual meeting of head coaches and owners in Phoenix, LaFleur opened up about love. “It’s going to be a process. We’d be stupid to think he’d go out there and play like Aaron Rodgers right away,” LaFleur said.

“Rodgers is not just a talent that you only get once a generation – it was a process for him too. He also didn’t play at the level he eventually reached,” LaFleur cautiously protects his new playmaker .

“We have to lower our expectations. It will also be a new role for Jordan, but we are looking forward to it,” LaFleur continued.

Instead, he also makes the other parts of the offense responsible: “He can only be as good as the players around him, that applies to all quarterbacks in the league. Everyone has to do their best so that Jordan can also show his best .”

Love hasn’t officially been named a starter yet, but that’s only a matter of time and depends on Aaron Rodgers’ trade to the New York Jets, which isn’t finalized yet.
