Green Bay Packers Fan Club Raises €4,000 for Charity, Super Bowl Trip to Las Vegas

Schweinfurt, Gochsheim: To have “hit the mark” right at the beginning of 2024, as Stefan Labus from the Schweinfurter Kindertafel gratefully expressed. For the donor of the donation, Matthias Kraus from the football fan club “Packers Germany eV”, these were exciting days anyway.

On the weekend before the check was handed over to the Kindertafel board members Labus and Dagmar Bebersdorf as well as their ambassadors Steffi List and Peter Kruse, Kraus was informed that he had been voted RTL NFL Fan of the Year and would be allowed to fly to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in mid-February The big final of the North American Football Championship, for which tickets are in great demand and a ticket can cost as much as $10,000.

The “Packers Germany eV” is the club he co-founded with currently 522 fans of the Green Bay Packers from Wisconsin, who last won the Super Bowl in 2010. In December 2023, the club again held a charity raffle, this time with 3,500 tickets sold at 2 euros each. This raised 7,000 euros, which the club increased to 8,000. The amount was halved and half also went to DKMS, the organization for registering stem cell donors, with the aim of enabling blood cancer patients worldwide to be cured with a stem cell transplant.

For the children’s table, the 4,000 euros means that the money can be used to finance the entire breakfast for children for an entire month, who receive free packets with healthy food for morning and lunch delivered to schools and kindergartens. “I’m speechless at how much money was raised,” marveled Stefan Labus.

48 prizes were raffled off, most of which had to do with Green Bay Packers fan paraphernalia from Matthias Kraus’s collection. And there was a special prize: a signed T-shirt from Aaron Rodgers, the former Packers superstar and Kraus’ favorite player. The winner has already thanked us and was very happy. Matthias Kraus emphasizes that the donation does not come from him, but from the members of the fan club with members spread all over Germany. By the way, the registered association welcomes donations and only does good things.

“You have your heart in the right place and are a sponsor who gives with joy,” said Stefan Labus, praising the independent insurance broker from Gochsheim (“NAVI Finanz GmbH”). In addition to his apartment and company headquarters, he also has a “man cave” where he and like-minded friends always watch NFL football. The visitors to the Schweinfurt children’s table were amazed when they visited this man cave, a room with a screen, darts machine, bar and at least 10,000 things that have to do with the Green Bay Packers.

Stefan Labus would have loved to hire the long-term donor Kraus for February 13th. Because it’s Shrove Tuesday – and the children’s table has its own float at the big Schweinfurt parade. As “DJ Matze”, the football fan would have loved to play hot music on the car. But on the night of February 11th to 12th the Super Bowl will take place in the American desert…
