Greece with urgent decision on COVID measures – Society – World – NOVA News

The Greek authorities have taken an urgent decision, which enters into force today, April 23, 2021, and restricts the movement of citizens between different areas of the country. The aim is to minimize contacts during the upcoming Easter holidays and to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

According to our embassy in Athens, the decision will be valid until 06:00 on May 10, 2021 and is valid throughout the country.

Vaccination centers in Greece will work until midnight

Exceptions are allowed only in the following cases:

1. Movement from and to the workplace after presentation of a driving license for the purpose of work, which indicates the beginning and end of the working day. The certificate is checked by the control bodies in the Register of Human Resources and the Information System “ERGANI” of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

2. For health reasons, only in the case of movement to a hospital for which certification by the relevant competent health authority is required. Exceptions are emergencies and emergencies.

3. One-time movement to a permanent address at the place of residence, which is proved by a Certificate, which is specially designed for the purpose and is received free of charge by HERE or by submitting a copy of the declaration of income tax paid E1.

4. Travel to a funeral under the conditions provided by law. The citizen who travels to a funeral is obliged to present to the competent authorities the death certificate and the funeral permit. The total travel time in this case may not exceed 48 hours.

5. Travel of divorced or separated parents, when necessary to ensure the communication of parents and children. The traveling parent is obliged to submit to the competent authorities in case of divorce – a court decision, or in case of separation – the relevant declaration by law.

Citizens who violate traffic restrictions are subject to an administrative fine of 300 euros. In case a citizen presents false evidence of the relevant reason for travel, an administrative fine of EUR 500 is imposed.

In connection with the new measures, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds the Bulgarian citizens that there is no change in the known minimum range of grounds for entry into Greece. Travel for tourism is not among them. Any entry into Greece should be supported by the relevant supporting documents.

Greece eases measures after Easter

Our Foreign Ministry pays special attention to real estate owners in Greece for the one-time nature of the travel permit and the requirement for a permanent address, supported by the relevant documents for permanent residence in the country.

Movement between the different districts in Greece is practically prohibited, except for the five grounds described, supported by the relevant documents.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarian citizens refrain from traveling to Greece in the period from today – April 23, 2021 to 06.00 on Monday, May 10, 2021.
