Great Vadlejch. One throw was enough for the Czech hawk to advance to the final Now.cz

Javelin thrower Jakub Vadlejch met the qualification limit at the Olympic Games in Paris with a first throw of 85.63 meters and ensured his place in Thursday’s final.

Vadlejch, who is defending silver from Tokyo, did not allow such drama eight years ago in Rio de Janeiro, where he only qualified with the last attempt.

This year, in his five starts, he crossed the 85-meter mark and proved in the qualification that this distance is firmly in his hands.

The qualification level was 84 metres.

Czech milliner Kristiina Sasínek Mäki did not advance to the semifinals of the 1,500-meter run. She took seventh place with a time of 4:06.07 and will undergo repairs on Wednesday.

Sasínek Mäki completed the third slowest run and finished just one place behind the straight forward. In the end, she passed several competitors from the back positions, but was separated by more than a second from the sixth place.

“Even though it’s not progress, I’m emotionally satisfied, because if I look at my opponents, it was a good race. And I hope I have enough strength left to tomorrow,” she said after the race.

This year she is not in the same form as three years ago in Tokyo, where she reached the final thanks to the Czech record that is still valid at 4:01.23.

World record holder Faith Kipyegon of Kenya entered just thirteen hours after a stunning finish in the 5000m and went on without a problem.

She won’t win the two golds like last year at the World Championships in Budapest, but at least she saved her first silver after protesting the disqualification on Sunday.

She is looking to win the 15th straight for the third time, something no runner has yet achieved at the Games.

Guduf Tsegay of Ethiopia could cross her path again, who pushed her on Monday and was the fastest in the heat today with a time of 3:58.84.

Sifan Hassanová need not fear, the Dutch woman who won bronze chose the 1500-meter marathon instead of the 1500-meter marathon for the triple combination in Paris.
