Great success in her first Olympics: a silver medal in boxing from Hatice Akbaş

Hatice became Turkey’s second silver medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Hatice Akbaş, who defeated Great Britain’s Charley Davison by a score of 3-2 in her first match of the games, defeated Tiana Echegaray of Australia 5-0 in the last 16 rounds.

The national athlete, who won the medal by defeating Mongolia’s Enkhjargal Munguntsetseg 5-0 in the quarter-finals, advanced to the final by winning against South Korea’s Aeji Im by a score of 3-2 in the semi-finals.
