Several hundred brave people took part in the traditional midday swim on 1 January on Sables d’Or beach in Anglet. The event had been canceled in 2021 and 2022.

The return of this January 1 swim, a “dive towards 2023” as the town of Anglet promotes it, was a real success.
Several hundred people, all generations combined, rushed into the ocean at the starting signal, precisely at noon. They braved the swell, which was quite strong this Sunday, and weren’t afraid of the cold water.

Rescuers from Bain Angloys guides were present to ensure the surveillance and safety of bathers on the beach of Les Sables d’Or.
The event concluded with a gigantic champagne aperitif on the beach.
