Last week, VR-Bank board member Siegfried Braun once again unveiled the bronze “Big Star of Sports” for the production of an inclusive musical in which wheelchair users and roller skaters take part together. .
The prize is endowed with 1,500 euros and is also valid as a ticket for the next round of the competition for the “Stars of Sport”. Tabalingo Sport & Kultur integrative e. V. thus qualified for the silver “Stars of Sport” award at the state level. At the awards ceremony, Siegfried Braun, board member of VR-Bank eG – Aachen Region, was impressed by the incredible commitment of the award-winning club, which started twelve years ago with a small team and now offers 17 sports for people with and without disabilities : “With Today we first award the bronze star to the musical ensemble. But it is also a tribute to the great achievement of all those involved in Tabalingo who staged the musical. Thanks to the joint work, the association was able to acquire many new members in recent years. What Tabalingo offers is exceptional. “
The bronze winner Tabalingo gives the opportunity to practice sports on an equal footing. The club team managed to bring different people together and inspire them to play sports together: “It was a particular challenge to train and coordinate our participants in terms of staging the musical. Since 2004, Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, together with organized sport, have awarded sports clubs the “Oscar of mass sport” for their social commitment in this well-known competition.
Initiated by the German Confederation of Olympic Sports (DOSB) and Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, the competition has meanwhile transformed into a socio-political event, the annual highlight of which is the awarding of the “Sports Stars” in gold. The event is accompanied by the highest political level: in recent years, the Federal Chancellor and the Federal President have personally honored the national winners each year.
