The international Schafhofs Dressage Festival offered one highlight after the other in Kronberg and whetted the appetite for the Olympic Games in Tokyo – in any case for the dressage. After the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle, the six-time Olympic champion Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) also won the Grand Prix Special with her chestnut mare Bella Rose, closely followed by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (Aubenhausen) with TSF Dalera BB and Dorothee Schneider (Framersheim ) with Showtime. All riders of the current longlist dressage, who completely competed for the 2nd Olympic sighting on the Schafhof at the CDI, left a very good impression.

“Jonny and I have already said that everyone here is on the same level, that we should actually call for a week of vacation and meadow so that everyone can come back down again,” joked the national coach, who is actually very happy that all top performers are healthy and fit To have seen down to the tips of your hair. Dorothee Schneider’s Showtime showed his rider again and again clearly his motivation and shone in Kronberg in all tests, while stable colleague Faustus even “went one step further”. As at the European Championships in Rotterdam, TSF Dalera BB got out of step with an “urgent business”. “I’ve already thought about something, go for a walk with her after eating.” Usually, the Trakehner mare always relieves herself before work.

The “race” for fourth position was extremely exciting for the dressage team. There are only three dressage pairs per nation at the start, the result being deleted is completely eliminated, but a “substitute pair” travels to Tokyo with them. Helen Langehanenberg (Billerbeck) – World Cup winner and team world champion – and the Holstein mare Annabelle von Conteur-Linaro, bred and owned by eyewear entrepreneur Günther Fielmann, will be the fourth couple next to Werth, Schneider and von Bredow-Werndl to travel to Tokyo . Langehanenberg presented the mare more confidently and generally more stable than the Grand Prix on Friday.
Following the 2nd Olympic sighting, the DOKR Dressage Committee met and proposed the four pairs mentioned to the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) for nomination for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In fact, however, other horses will be quarantined in Aachen – such as Benjamin Werndl’s Daily Mirror and Frederic Wandre’s Duke of Britain FRH. With this, the DOKR Dressage Committee strives for the greatest possible safety, because only horses that have completed the mandatory quarantine are allowed to be flown to Tokyo at all.
The Netherlands Nations Cup will take place in Rotterdam in a few days, with Isabell Werth / Weihegold, Dorothee Schneider / Sammy Davis Jr., Carina Scholz (Sassenberg) / Tarantino and Matthias Alexander Rath / Foundation representing German colors in the square.

Matthias Alexander Rath will therefore hardly have time to review the two event weekends with the international youth festival and the dressage festival at the Schafhof. But that much is certain – the head of the Schafhof Stud and Nations Cup rider is proud to have presented the Schafhof as the usual good host for international dressage sport. “There are always a few adjustments that can be made.
