The Toronto Raptors were in great shape on Saturday night in Orlando for their first playoff game. Indeed, the reigning NBA champions paid a 107-92 victory over the powerful Los Angeles Lakers.
The two teams were in a constant struggle until the end of the fourth quarter. As the score stood at 83-83 with six minutes to go, the Raptors took control with 10 consecutive points thanks to baskets from Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby. Kyle Lowrie added it by scoring six points in 30 seconds.
Ultimately, the Raptors dominated the fourth quarter 35-22 At the half, the Lakers were ahead 44-41 while the Torontonians led 72-70 after three quarters.
Lowrie was the clear leader on the Raptors side with 33 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Anunoby also did well with a contribution of 23 points.
The Raptors were mostly able to neutralize Anthony Davis, who had been brilliant Thursday in the Lakers victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. This time, Davis was limited to 14 points in just over 35 minutes.
LeBron James led the Lakers with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
On Monday, in their next game, the Raptors will face the Miami Heat.
