This plane was supposed to leave at 06.30 local time, but delay more than an hour. Passengers are scheduled to arrive at 09.00.
However, the suffering of passengers did not end there. When approaching Londonthe plane is ready to land.
At that time, suddenly there were Air Traffic Control Restrictions. Thick fog enveloped London Airport, pilots were asked not to land first.
The plane flew around for 35 minutes to find a gap in the fog. There was no bright spot, the pilot gave up and turned back to Glasgow Airport.
The 2.5 hour flight was wasted, departing from the same airport and returning to that airport again.
Mercury in London fell to a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius and caused an icy haze. More than 20 flights were grounded. Flights arriving from Glasgow are expected to be delayed.
British Airways confirmed that the flight was suspended until the next day, after the fog cleared. The airline also issued an apology to passengers for the inconvenience caused.
“We apologize that due to Air Traffic Control restrictions, caused by the fog, our customer’s trip to the City of London this morning has been postponed,” a BA spokesperson said.
