In recent weeks, gymnasts from Canet have particularly distinguished themselves in competitions.
The gymnasts of the Canet club first ensured during the regional championship of national groups in Nîmes where the club had entered four teams. Three of them climbed on the podium with the victories of the national group 15 years and under and of the national group all categories, and the second place of the national group 17 years and under.
These three groups qualified directly for the French championships. They will be accompanied by the national Duo 13 and under who finished in Nîmes at the foot of the podium, but was drafted thanks to the reserve quotas for the French championships.
Diploma and medal
It is therefore with four groups that the Rhythmic and Sports Gymnastics Association of Canet-en-Roussillon will represent the city and Occitania in the French championship of national groups.
On Saturday May 14, during the 2nd regional group championship, but this time for the Federal, regional and national groups for 10-11 year olds in Pamiers, selective for the French championship in Chambéry, the Federal Duo for 13 year olds and less wins the title as well as the national group 10-11 years. These two sets are therefore qualified for the French championship in Chambéry which will take place on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June. As for the national 7-9 year old chick group, it also finished on the top step. For them it was their final.
Finally, on Sunday May 15, the 2nd stage of training cups 2 and 3 was held in Béziers. All the little gymnasts who took part in this stage validated their level. They got a nice diploma and a nice medal as a reward. These results validate the work done day after day and the investment of gymnasts, coaches and managers.
