With the departure of Francisco Rabell, the Queretaro theater lost a man committed to the arts, however through his work, his work will remain alive for generations; shared by the director of Cómico de la Legua, Patricia Corral, who expressed her condolences to the Rabell family.
Francisco Rabell was a student at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), at the time of the formation of the Cmicos de la Legua group, together with Hugo Gutiérrez Vega.
“Don Paco Rabell had to see how part of the theater was born in Querétaro, he had to witness the birth of Cmicos de la Legua, which is the oldest university theater group in Latin America, and to start in the first performance In 1959, on September 5, in the atrium of the Temple of Santa Rosa de Viterbo, that was the first performance of Cómico de la Legua, where Paco Rabell was. So he is a very important founding member ”.
Don Paco Rabell was the general director of the Comedians of the Legua group from 1975 to 1979, however his career within the UAQ theater company lasted 20 years, and then he founded his own company “Corral de Comedias” in 1980.
Patricia Corral specified that although her theatrical work was separated from Cmicos de la Legua in 1980, her independent theater company “Corral de comedias” was not only one of the largest and pioneers in the entity, but also served as a seedbed for the new scenes from the Queretaro theater.
“Don Paco Rabell is an extremely important person for the Queretaro theater. We must also remember that he went to Mexico to work in film, television and theater, we remember a lot the movie, The Exterminator with Eduardo Palomo, and he also worked on the telenovela, Gallo. Later he returned to Querétaro, and in 1980 he founded Corral de comedias ”.
To conclude, the director of comedians of the UAQ League lamented the death of Paco Rabell, and expressed her condolences to the Rabell family.
