Czech tennis player Barbora Krejčíková outclassed 6: 0 and 6: 2 at the tournament in Dubai with Anastasia Potapova from Russia and advanced to the semifinals.
He will play for the second final participation in singles in his career with the winner of the duel between Cori Gauff from the USA and Swiss Jill Teichmann.
Twenty-five-year-old Krejčíková dealt with Potapova in 64 minutes and has not lost a hundred in Dubai yet. Thanks to today’s victory, he is sure of a new personal maximum in the world rankings. In the WTA standings, he moves from the 63rd place to at least the 50th position.
In the semifinals, Gauffová or Teichmannová awaits Krejčíková, who have already managed to advance through Czech players in Dubai. The 16-year-old American eliminated Markéta Vondroušová in the second round and Tereza Martincová in the third. In the second round, the injured Petra Kvitová surrendered to the 23-year-old Swiss.
So far, Krejčíková only played the singles final at the WTA circuit in 2017 in Nuremberg, where she lost to Kiki Bertens from the Netherlands. In doubles, the Czech tennis player has seven triumphs to her credit, including two successes in grand slams.
