The funds for the targeted aid for heating will be increased by nearly 21% from next year, according to the increased poverty line, which will become BGN 638 from 2025. This was announced to the media in Yambolsko by the acting Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivaylo Ivanov.
“The people who will be assisted next year will be more – about 377 thousand, according to our forecasts,” the social minister pointed out. Ivanov recalled that the increase in the poverty line will also increase the amount of other social benefits.
A total of BGN 186 million is allocated as energy subsidies for the upcoming heating season. “Approximately 350,000 will be the approved applications for targeted subsidies for heating. They are more than last year. About 320,000 applications have been submitted, processed and paid so far,” the minister pointed out.
The deadline for submitting applications for the aid is until the end of October. The amount granted by the state is in the amount of BGN 553.75 and is paid at once for the entire heating season, recalled the Minister of Labor and Social Policy.
He attended the opening of the first Homeless Center in Yambol region. The shelter is located in the village of Skalitsa, Tundzha municipality.
