Infections at 7 and 14 days in Galician cities

A Coruña, in minimums prior to the second wave

The situation in the city of A Coruña has improved remarkably in recent days, reaching today a new minimum of infections in the last 7 days since there is data, of only 97. The contagion data for the last 14 days is more than double and is at 247, at the level of the best data for April and much better than at any time since the start of the second wave. The good news is that the data from the last 7 days confirm an improvement trend in the city, just as it had anticipated CovidBens.

Ferrol continues with an enviable situation

Ferrol is registering more cases lately, but as they go up they go down again, and at the moment 16 have been reported in the last 7 days, just two per day. Last Saturday there were 17. The number of infections in the last 14 days is just 32, double, so the situation can be considered very stable.

Lugo continues to stabilize

The situation in Lugo city has improved again after a few weeks ago in which many more infections were registered, and now it has been with practically the same data for a few days, between 26 and 28 in the last 7 days. Today there are 27, less than half of the 58 infections in the last 14, so the situation is improving.

Important improvement in Ourense

After weeks of steadily worsening and gradually adding more infections, in recent days the number of diagnoses has decreased in the city of Ourense. A week ago there were 42 infections in the last 7 days and today that figure has dropped to 30. The sum of infections in the last 14 days has been declining for several days without stopping and today it is at 72, more than double the data of the last 7 days, so the situation is improving.

Pontevedra is getting worse

After weeks of great stability, the city of Pontevedra has begun to worsen and to increase its number of infections in the last seven days. Last Saturday they were 37, and a week later they have risen to 47. The number of infections in the last 14 has increased as a result of this and now stands at 84, less than double the number of 7.

Santiago de Compostela worsens

The city of Santiago de Compostela is by far the one that has worsened the most in relation to last week’s data, which has led the mayor to say that the evolution is “worrying”. The truth is that last Saturday there were 16 infections in the last seven days and today that number has risen to 39. It is still very low compared to the rest of the cities, but it has risen a lot in percentage. The number of infections in the last 14 is 55.

Vigo slows its improvement

Vigo continues to be the most affected city in Galicia and weeks ago its situation had improved considerably, but in recent days it has worsened again. The 208 infections of the last seven days are more than the 175 of last Saturday, but less than the 218 of Saturday, May 1 or than the 283 of Saturday, April 24. The number of infections in the last 14 days is 382, less than double. In the next few days we will see if the olive city continues to worsen or stabilizes again and begins to decline.
