Great! Fourteen-year-old Fruhvirt eliminated a better-placed opponent by 900 places

The huge potential of the Fruhvirt sisters has been talked about for a long time, not only among Czech fans and experts. While 16-year-old Linda successfully presents herself on the senior circuit, where she has already climbed to the top three, her sister Brenda, who is two years younger, destroys rivals in the junior circuit, where she ranks fourth.

But she is also starting to collect the first starts among adults. Brenda Fruhvirt proved her huge potential in her third tournament. She made her way to the quarterfinals at the Argentine clay court in Tucuman, her last victory over nineteen-year-old Russian tennis player Elina Avanesyan, a 4: 6, 6: 4, 6: 2 player, almost 900 places, a sensation.

“She has a bright future ahead of her, I’m sure of that. I can’t wait to see her in three, four or five years. It will be unbelievable, “said French tennis player Alizé Cornetová about the Czech star last year.

And she was far from the only one. Eighteen-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert also noticed a huge talent of young hope. “Fruhvirt trained for many weeks at my academy in January and worked great for me. She certainly has,” the legend said.

Praise for the Fruhvirt sisters was also made by Serena Williams coach Patrick Mouratoglou or former fourth world player Brad Gilbert.

Brenda Fruhvirt has had a number of successes. Together with his sister Linda, they played a major role in the victory of Czech tennis players at the World Championships for under-14 teams. In the summer of 2020, as a thirteen-year-old, she defeated Kateřina Siniaková in an exhibition tournament, and she has won a number of triumphs from junior companies.

The Fruhvirt sisters are far from the only hopes of Czech women’s tennis. Nikola Bartůňková and Sára Bejlek are also among the absolute junior elite, and the winner of last year’s junior French Open, Linda Nosková, also presents excellent performances.
