Jakarta –
Heavy rains that have lashed China in recent days have caused heavy flooding. As a result, hundreds of thousands of residents had to be evacuated to safe places. Floods in China also paralyzed a number of facilities, access roads and submerged hundreds of vehicles up to the height of the car’s roof.
In the last three days, the intensity of rain in China increased dramatically and caused flooding in a number of provinces. One of the worst occurred in Henan province, China, which caused dozens of cars to be submerged and swept away by the torrential flood currents.
Quoted from the Guardian’s Instagram social media account, in the uploaded video, dozens of vehicles can be seen flooded almost as high as the roof of the car. In fact, some of them float and flip.
The video also shows a number of floating cars swept away by the flood. This shows that the flood currents are heavy enough that they can wash away cars that have a fairly heavy weight.
“Henan province, China, is facing extreme flooding after it rained in just three days. On social media, videos show hundreds of cars floating on main roads, passengers trapped in subways and a number of people helping someone who is caught in the flood currents,” wrote the Guardian account on Instagram.
Quoted from CNN, Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, has been hit by severe flooding in recent hours. So far, 25 people have died and more than 200,000 people have been evacuated to safer places.

Heavy rains in the city of 10 million people prompted the Chinese government to deploy more than 6,000 firefighters, as well as 2,000 members of the Chinese police and military to help deal with the flooding.
Extreme climate change does not only occur in China, some time ago several areas in Germany were hit by flash floods that caused hundreds of people to die and some of them are still missing.
Quoted from various sources, flash floods in Germany also caused a number of road access to be cut off. In addition, thousands of vehicles were heavily damaged by being swept away by the swift currents of the flood.
