Few movies have generated as much hatred before its release as ‘Ghostbusters’. The female reboot of the mythical film from the 80s was beaten non-stop by a sector of the public long before it hit theaters. A bad reputation that he could not overcome despite being a first-rate hobby that I personally consider to be even slightly superior than the film directed by Ivan Reitman.
There will be those who consider that statement as little less than blasphemy, but within the small wave of proposals in these lines, I am very clear that ‘Ghostbusters’ is the most successful. Like the original, it seeks at all times that the viewer has a great time, and it may not have such bright sparkles, but in return it is much more balanced. I invite you to get it back today by taking advantage of your pass at La 1 from 10:10 p.m.
More balanced
One thing that I am very clear about is that the film in question in no case was he going to be able to leave as much of a mark as ‘Ghostbusters’, since it arrived at a time so marked by the avalanche of superproductions of fast consumption that it was impossible to achieve something like that.
In return, here we do not bet on the little stimulating option of the undercover remake for lay the foundations of something different, connected to what we already knew but without being a slave to it. This allows him to find his own voice and offer an adventure to connect with the new generations, where nostalgia has an adequate presence but is not entirely subordinate to it.

Where there is a more spiritual connection is that both are films that convey joy and dedication, with ‘The Ghostbusters’ encouraging improvisation to achieve it, while here it shows at all times a casual, almost enthusiastic tone that helps one immerse oneself fully in the adventure it poses.
What really makes her enjoy this female version more is that ‘Ghostbusters’ is a movie full of ups and downs and with some obvious pacing problems, but she always manages to get at least a smile from the viewer before one can disconnect. . Here that spark is somewhat lower, shining above all the hilarious character played by Chris Hemsworth, but in return there are no valleys of interest.

Like everything in life, that is debatable, since there will be those who do not connect with the sense of humor of the film in general and with several of the gags that populate his footage in particular. There I consider essential the contribution of Paul Feig to make the set overcome any specific weakness by managing to give the film an unexpected balance -and it is that deep down it has a lot of a joke festival and a not very elaborate plot skeleton- that only partially faints during its stretch final. And I am not going to say that ‘Ghostbusters’ is an unquestionable wonder when it is not.
Apart, the cast is well chosen, complementing each other and developing their characters well enough to arouse the curiosity of what would become of them in other adventures. If you face them with the desire to hate them – or simply want to see the same characters as in previous installments of the franchise – maybe things will change. And if you simply like the original better, there is nothing to object either, but with ‘Ghostbusters’ it was very unfair at the time.

Unfortunately, ‘Ghostbusters’ was a resounding commercial failure, something that prevented going ahead with the sequel to bet on a sequel to the original film that will hit theaters this year. And the fact is that Feig’s tape cost 144 million dollars and raised “only” 229 million when the most accepted estimate is that at least double its cost must be entered in order to start talking about benefits …
