“It is really too busy, not corona proof,” said police spokesman Lien Depoorter about the call to stop coming to Wintergloed tonight.
Tonight it took a long time to drive to the center on Koning Albert I-laan. It is therefore very busy at times at the ten light installations. “We have railings ready in case it really gets too busy on the light installations,” says the mayor. That had not yet to happen.
Wintergloed is in its second edition and started last night with great interest. Especially given the beautiful hiking weather, it is the top attraction in the wider region.
“People sometimes think they have to go fast, but that is not the case at all. The light festival can still be visited every day until January 10th. There is really plenty of time,” said the police spokesman. She recommends coming on a weekday when it is quieter. “We really want people to be spread out.”
