Katie Boulter decided the duel against Canada with her win.
Emma Raducanu got off to a perfect start against Rebecca Marino in the first duel between Great Britain and Canada. Without losing a game, the former US Open winner took the first set and thus clearly set the course for victory in the last quarterfinal of the final round of the Billie Jean King Cup.
In the second round there was more headwind from the Canadian, but Raducanu remained the better player and won 6:0, 7:5. The starting position before the second individual was clear: with another win the semi-final is perfect.
Boulter wins against Fernandez
Katie Boulter then took over, winning 6:2, 6:4 against Leylah Fernandez and giving the British team another clear victory. Great Britain previously won against the German team after two singles matches.
Slovakia, who previously won against Australia and against Raducanu, Boulter and co., awaits in the semi-finals on Tuesday. can fight for a place in the final. Italy and Poland will meet in the other semi-finals on Monday.
