Graz Opera House

“Tango argentino is a sad thought that you can dance,” said the Argentine composer Enrique Santos Discepolo. In classic tango, the gentleman leads the lady only with his body. She leans against him and follows his signals from shoulders, chest, pelvis, legs and knees. Ballet director Beate Vollack will also lead the dancers, the accordion, a voice and the audience through the special, very intimate evening „Tan(z)Go!“, which can be seen from May 19th at the Graz Opera. You can now enjoy a foretaste of this extraordinary dance evening between tango and ballet at home in your own living room: via the Graz Opera website or via the YouTube-Kanal of the opera house, the short film “Tan (z) Go!” is already leading into the world of tango. Accompanied by Goran Kovačević on the accordion and Ivan Oreščanin’s singing, the Graz Opera Ballet dances to tango rhythms in an intimate choreography by Beate Vollack.
