Graupner concert with solo bassoon in Darmstadt

DARMSTADT – (schl). The sixth concert in the “reflexionen22” series will take place on Sunday, June 19 at 5 p.m. in the Auferstehungskirche, Messeler Straße 31. The program includes the cantata “Fahre auf in thehöhe” and the overture in F major by the Darmstadt court music director Christoph Graupner – with an unusual orchestration: in addition to the solo bassist and the string orchestra, a solo bassoon will sound as a special timbre. With Professor Johann-Dietrich Wörner, an outstanding scientist from Darmstadt could be won as a speaker. Performing musicians are Timothy Sharp (bass) and the “Main Barock Orchester” Frankfurt. Burkhard Engelke is in charge. Tickets cost 20 euros. Advance sales from 4 p.m. at the box office or at www.musik-arheilgen.de/veranstaltungen. Further information is available at www.musik-arheilgen.de.
