Gratkorn: Corona test balance: 1,250 have been tested

At the weekend, the first corona mass tests for the staff of the education department.

From a total of 27,000 childcare providers, educators, teachers or people from the school and elementary education sector, 20,863 took advantage of the offer. This corresponds to a stake of around 77.01 percent. The test location was the market town of Gratkorn in Graz-Umgebung Nord.

Good preparation

Of all the antigen tests taken, 77 were positive. This 0.369 percent may seem low, but with the result, the 77 people who tested positive can be put into quarantine to prevent another chain of infection. In the Graz area, four cases, i.e. people who seem to be / were sick with no symptoms, were found. Around 1,250 people came to the Gratkorn cultural hall for voluntary corona testing. But also some citizens of Gratkorner took the opportunity, as well as citizens from neighboring communities, and even from Graz volunteers were there. “Thanks to the excellent organization, there were hardly any waiting times, feedback from the visitors confirms this. Since the IT technical processing also worked without any problems, everyone involved was very satisfied with the overall process,” says community treasurer Günther Bauer, who was also on site.

Mayors have made a picture

The entire test process was made possible by the excellent cooperation of the Austrian Armed Forces, the Austrian Red Cross local authority Gratkorn, the volunteer fire brigade Gratkorn Markt, many community employees of the administration and the farm and local councilors. Mayor Helmut Weber thanked all helpers and was also able to welcome the mayors and community representatives from the neighboring communities to the Kulturhaus. “With regard to the large corona test in all municipalities on December 12th and 13th, the neighboring municipalities were able to convince themselves of the construction of the test roads, the control system and the on-site personnel deployment, and learn from experience for their communities,” said Bauer.
