Grass Pokémon vs. Fire vs Water Starters: Splatoon 3 Splatfest will solve the debate

Nintendo has announced the upcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest and it has a Pokemon theme. Yes, Nintendo will never miss an opportunity for a timely crossover, and that’s exactly what November’s Splatfest will be.

This timed event will ask players to choose their preferred starter type. It is a question that is always debated in schoolyards around the world, from generation to generation. But for those of you who left the Pokedex in 2000, those starting types are the Grass, Fire, and Water types. You know, like Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, or whatever your age-appropriate equivalent was.

Splatfest will start November 11 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT and will end exactly two days later, Sunday, at the same time. As usual, there will be special Splatfest t-shirts for those attending. And of course, this event is designed to coincide with the November 18th release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This will be the first to allow you to allow your own custom TMs which is a big deal.

Splatoon 3’s first Splatfest aimed to settle the rock-paper-scissors debate once and for all, as well as introducing the sequel’s new three-sided Splatfest format. The first post-launch Splatfest asked players what they would choose to take with them to a desert island. This is one of many high-intensity debates the format will help respond to in the coming months.
