The fire units are in place in the event of a grass and field fire at Kolltveit in Øygarden.
– We are talking about a couple of hundred square meters. It spreads reasonably fast. We do not have control or overview, says duty commander Ronald Drotningsvik in the 110 exchange.
There are townhouses and homes in the area. Drotningsvik says that they have partial control over the spread towards buildings, but that there is still a danger that the fire could spread there.
Forest fire helicopter is on its way to Øygarden.
Uncertain cause of fire
The fire spreads towards a cabin and further up Spjeldfjellet.
– We have no control there, says Drotningsvik.
The fire brigade is now sending crews up to the cabin to check if there are people inside.

The fire service does not know how the fire started, but it must have started near a turning point by the homes.
The police are also in place.
– The police have started evacuating terraced houses in the area, as well as a farm where two people and animals will live, says operations manager Stine Mjelde.

At 1 p.m., she says neighbors in the area are encouraged to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke.
– The police’s task is to evacuate residents in the area. This applies to a farm, some terraced houses and possibly a cabin up in the terrain, says Mjelde.
She says that the situation is confusing.
– It is dry in the terrain after a long period with little precipitation. In addition, there is some wind. This makes the situation challenging, says Mjelde.
No injuries have been reported so far.
