With ‘1945’, Tibo Polleunis (20), the grandson of actor-singer Johny Voners, recorded an instrumental song in honor of his ‘bompa’. He passed away exactly a year ago today and Tibo thought that was the perfect moment to make his song world-wide on YouTube, among others. Tibo studies drums at the PXL Hogeschool in Hasselt, but at the age of twelve he played with the Aznavoners, the orchestra with which ‘bompa’ performed songs by Charles Aznavour. “I hardly ever watched FC De Kampioenen, but the passion with which Bompa did everything is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me.”
