Attached to the La Briquerie de Thionville high school, the Grands-Bois boilermaking center in Hayange was to close at the start of the 2023 school year. The students enrolled (86 at present) were to be transferred to Thionville, to new workshops. Due to construction delays, the move was postponed for a year. The Grands-Bois site will remain open until the end of the 2023/24 school year.
The establishment, which was formerly called “Lycée des Grands-Bois”, has welcomed up to 600 students in the past. Since its merger with the Lycée de la Briquerie, it has welcomed less than a hundred students enrolled in the boilermaking courses.
