Grandmother Named Suspect for Falsifying Land Documents: IPW Suggests Involvement of Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau

Grandmother Named Suspect in Falsifying Land Documents Case, IPW Proposes Special Case

Jakarta – Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) has highlighted a viral case involving a grandmother named Anny Anna Maria (67) who has been named a suspect in the falsification of land documents while managing her parents’ inherited land in Makassar, South Sulawesi. IPW has suggested that the police hold a special case by involving the Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau.

The suggestion was made by IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso, who initially spoke about the irregularities in the handling of the case. “IPW sees the determination of the suspect’s status as a bit odd. Because what is at issue is the 1964 certificate and the suspect is the person who was not mature enough at that time. So it was not the person who committed the forgery,” said Santoso in a statement on Sunday.

Santoso further emphasized that the legal problem in this case is a civil dispute related to ownership. He believes that the ownership case should be resolved through a civil lawsuit or an opinion from the National Land Agency (BPN). Therefore, he recommended that the National Police hold a special case and involve the Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau to supervise the handling of the case.

The police have provided an explanation regarding the determination of Anny as a suspect. Anny had made a civil report in court, which she lost and subsequently appealed. The reporting party, Lukas, who was in a dispute with Anny, reported her to the Makassar Polrestabes regarding the use of a certificate that was no longer active. The land certificate belonging to Anny had been terminated by the BPN and PTUN’s decision.

The police conducted an investigation by seizing evidence and summoned Lukas twice, but he never appeared. Anny was then charged with the act of using fake documents under Article 263 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code. The police have held a case regarding the determination of Anny as a suspect and plan to hold a special case at the Regional Police and the South Sulawesi Regional Police to determine her status.

The case has gained attention on social media, with many questioning the handling of the case and suggesting that it should be treated as a civil dispute rather than a criminal offense. IPW’s proposal for a special case aims to address these concerns and ensure a fair and just resolution for all parties involved.

As the case continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the authorities will proceed and whether the involvement of the Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau will lead to a different outcome.

How can the police ensure a fair and unbiased investigation into the land dispute case involving Anny Anna Maria?

On who inherits the land,” said Sugeng.

He added, “It seems that the police are not looking deep enough into the case. The suspect is an elderly woman who manages her parents’ land. It is important for the police to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the truth.”

Sugeng also mentioned that IPW proposes the Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau to be involved in the case. “We believe that this is not an ordinary case of falsifying land documents. There may be influential individuals or groups behind this case. Hence, we suggest that a special case be held to ensure a fair and unbiased investigation,” he stated.

The case began when a neighbor of Anny Anna Maria filed a report accusing her of falsifying land documents to claim ownership of the land that his family had been living on for generations. Anny, on the other hand, claims that she is the rightful owner of the land as it was inherited from her parents.

The news of Anny being named a suspect has sparked public outrage, with many questioning the fairness of the investigation and suggesting that there might be ulterior motives behind the accusations.

The involvement of IPW in the case brings hope to Anny and her family, who are seeking justice. The organization has been known for its commitment to ensuring justice and fairness in legal cases, especially those involving vulnerable individuals.

It remains to be seen whether the police will heed IPW’s suggestion and involve the Police Bareskrim Wasidik Bureau in the special case. However, the attention brought by IPW to this issue is a positive development, shedding light on the need for a thorough and unbiased investigation.

In a country where land disputes are not uncommon, it is crucial to ensure that justice prevails and that vulnerable individuals, like Anny Anna Maria, are protected. IPW’s involvement in this case serves as a reminder that there are organizations dedicated to upholding justice and advocating for those who may not have a strong voice.
