Grandma Annie (90) has won two ballet dancers

Grandma Annie van Bragt turned 90, but could not celebrate her birthday due to corona. Granddaughter Charlotte van Gils wanted to think about it and then suddenly there was a competition from Theaters Tilburg. You could win a theater performance at home. The perfect gift, the granddaughter thought and she won. And so two dancers from the Scapino Ballet came to perform in Grandma Annie’s living room.

Not that Grandma Annie has anything to do with ballet, but she loves Charlotte’s present. “I have a great granddaughter. It’s a treasure, ” she says proudly.

The birthday boy or girl visibly enjoys the performance. Granddaughter Charlotte also enjoys watching the dancers. “This is a good price!” She laughs. “I really love ballet myself, so the price was really fantastic.”

The living room performance with grandma Annie:

Theaters Tilburg is happy that it can offer something special in this way. “No one can go to the theater or no more than thirty people,” explains Anne Rosenau of the theater. “We thought: then we bring the theater to people’s homes.”

In addition to the dancers of the Scapino Ballet, pianist Jan Willem Rozenboom, trumpet player Teus Nobel and actor Marcel Osterop also perform in living rooms. In total, they provide eighteen home performances.

Grandma Annie was one of the lucky ones. The performance of the Scapino Ballet is an unforgettable gift. And that was the intention, says granddaughter Charlotte. “Turning 90 is a very special age. We had to show in one way or another that we are very proud.”
