Al Ain, 27 October / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments today opened the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque in the Sweihan area of Al Ain in the presence of Sheikh Dr. Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Dr. Muhammad Matar. Al-Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Mohammed Saeed Al-Neyadi, Director-General of the Authority, and a number of officials.
Sheikh Hazza, Sheikh Khaled, and the attendees performed the Friday prayer in the mosque, along with a large gathering of worshipers from the country and members of the Arab and Islamic communities, and they listened to the Friday sermon, which was entitled “Every favor is charity.”
Sheikh Dr. Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated the care and attention of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and His Highness’s continuous directives on the necessity of upgrading mosques and advancing their mission so that they can play their role in society and contribute to reflecting the civilized image of our Islamic religion, and His Highness’s follow-up. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office.
The mosque – which can accommodate 1,200 worshippers – is characterized by a heritage design, and is equipped with all facilities that serve worshipers of men, women, and people of determination, in addition to a designated residence for the imam of the mosque.
Dr. Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Authority, praised the attention given by the wise leadership to mosques and their care, and the continuous support they receive, praying for Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed, may God have mercy on him, for forgiveness and reward for building this mosque and the many mosques he built.
