Hervé Féron was once again distinguished, this Wednesday in Paris, with a Marianne d’Or. Three years after winning the award for his cultural action, the mayor of Tomblaine was recognized, this time, for the solidarity he was able to promote during the health crisis. “I am quite proud to be the only mayor of Lorraine who receives a Marianne d’Or this year and what is more is Marianne d’Or for solidarity”, commented soberly Hervé Féron.
The 36th winners of the Marianne d’Or National Competition devote, unsurprisingly, a large place to new solidarities, dedication and initiatives taken by elected officials facing the ravages of Covid 19. Tomblaine has, from the first day of confinement due pandemic, reactivated its alert-prevention system created a few years earlier for the heatwave. The elderly, isolated, vulnerable people identified by the municipality were called by telephone, by elected officials and CCAS staff, three times a week, to inquire about their news, to keep the link, to listen, to suggest that volunteers come to visit, to help, to run errands …

Web TV success
In addition, a web TV was launched on the second day of confinement. It has enabled the city level to link the inhabitants of Tomblain to each other and to link them to the rest of the world … Every day an information magazine was distributed. In this city of 9,000 inhabitants, the latter was watched more than 3,000 times a day and that during 46 days of confinement. Like an island of resistance to loneliness, this magazine gave news of each and everyone was then interested in the other. The inhabitants sent their photos, their videos to show how they occupied the time.
This distinction will be more officially awarded in September at Tomblaine.
