Grand Cross of Ngouoni: President Oligui Nguema begins – AGP

Ngouoni, August 24, 2024 (AGP) – Transitional President, the Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, on Saturday August 24, started the first edition of the great cross of Ngouoni, the capital of the department of Lékabi-Léwolo, in the region of Haut-Ogooué (South East), we noted.

Sponsored by the Gabonese Head of State, this first edition brought together more than 500 runners from different backgrounds who ranged in age from 7 to 35 years old. Veterans also participated in this competition and Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and his wife Zita Oligui Nguema participated in this race in front of a large audience who came to attend this great competition.

The aim is to bring together the sons and daughters of the province in general, and those in the town of Ngouoni in particular, around sports. At the same time, share the virtues of practicing sports with your companions.

It is attended by a distinguished guest, that is the head of the administration of the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, in the person of Patrice Trovoada and some members of the Transitional Government including, Pascal Ogowe Siffon, Minister of Tourism, Lt. General Brigitte Onkanowa, Minister of National Defense, Jeannot Kalima, Minister of Energy and many others.

» I am very happy and we thank the Head of State for organizing this big cross with enthusiasm. We are happy and the goals were achieved with the quality of the lots,” replied Jeannot Kalima, Ngouoni’s son and member of the Government.

It should be noted that registrations for this first edition were free and this allowed the Gabonese people of this part of the country to spend pleasant moments of privacy and unity, in the company of the Transitional President, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

At the end of this great Ngouoni cross, full of mystery and unity, the Head of State awarded the winners of the different categories with prizes between 100,000, 300,000 and 500,000 CFA francs. Also, a large batch of household appliances was offered by the number one Gabonese.

In this same spirit of solidarity and unity, a great concert was offered to the people of Ngouoni village where several artists were invited to perform.
