Gran Turismo 7 makes changes after massive criticism from players

Last week update for Gran Turismo 7 introduced major changes to the game’s economy. In short, players received less money to win races, which many interpreted as an attempt by developer Polyphony Digital to push mikrotransaksjoner.

The criticism hailed and the average user reviews at Metacritic plummeted the worst ever for a Sony game. Now Polyphony promises changes.

Larger payments and sales of cars

In a message on the official PlayStation blog, Gran Turismo boss Kazunori Yamauchi warns that a new update will be rolled out in early April.

This will, among other things, raise the payments you receive for a number of races, as well as raise the limit on money you can have in your wallet from 20 million to 100 million Credits. In addition, eight new Endurance races will be introduced, and the amount of used and legendary cars for sale at any given time will increase.

Furthermore, Yamauchi promises that the team will work to introduce more content and new functionality in the near future. Among other things, there will be 24-hour races, several World Circuit races and an online Time Trial mode.

Last but not least, you will eventually have the opportunity to sell cars, something fans have demanded since the game’s launch. When any of this will come, however, is uncertain.

Plaster on the wound

As a band-aid, Polyphony will be giving away a one-time one million Credits to all players.

The payout is available to those who purchased Gran Turismo 7 before March 25th. All you have to do is log in to the game before April 25, and then the money will appear in your wallet.
