Grain producers from all over the country are preparing for protests – Agriculture

Grain producers across the country are preparing for protests. The reason for the dissatisfaction is, according to them, the uncontrolled import of cereals from Ukraine and Moldova. At the same time, the harvest is in full swing in our country, bTV reports.

Neli Stoyanova is the chairman of an agricultural cooperative. They have already harvested the barley, the wheat harvest will be over in a few days, and they still have to harvest the canola. And despite their good wheat yields, there is no interest in buying the commodity

An agreement was reached to resume the export of Ukrainian grain

“I believe we will end up with 650-670 kilograms as an average yield, which is more than last year. Our quality is very good, with high protein, with high hectoliter and what I did as the first samples, we are talking about bread wheat. The truth is , that at the moment the price is neither high nor low. There is no trade,” she said.

According to Neli Stoyanova, the reason for the lack of a market for domestic production is the large amount of Ukrainian grain imported into our country. “If we don’t sell production, we won’t be able to pay our debts, to make payments that are due at the end of August, at the beginning of August, let alone talk about next year, such as stocking up with fertilizers, preparations,” she added.

Ukraine expects EU help to store the wheat harvest

“There is one huge problem that is currently happening in Bulgaria, and that is the import of Ukrainian grain in any form. The lack of a price due to cheap imports has destroyed the market for local produce,” said the chairman of the Dobrudja Union of Grain Producers, Radostina Zhekova.

According to her, there is no phytosanitary control of incoming goods from Ukraine, which is not a member of the EU.
