Blood transfusions hold many secrets

In the canton of Thurgau, politicians fear that donated blood from Covid 19 vaccinated people could harm the unvaccinated. That raises completely different questions.

Those who refuse to be vaccinated against Covid-19 do so because they are afraid of the bite. Or because he doesn’t believe in the effect. Many even see the vaccination as a targeted attack on their physical and mental health. Two Thurgau cantonal councilors from the EDU and SVP are also quite uncomfortable when they think about the vaccination. What happens, you wonder, when an unvaccinated person receives blood from a vaccinated donor in a transfusion? Is he then vaccinated even though he doesn’t want it? “No,” says the Thurgau government, and they know something about medicine.

However, this does not end the discussion. On the contrary – it is only just beginning. Because with transfusions, completely different contents than vaccines could be transmitted. What is it like, one wonders, when a Reformed man receives blood from a Catholic? Or a non-denominational Reformed blood? Does he then see Zwingli with different eyes? You don’t really know. But one thing is certain: with a little luck, he will stay alive.
