A second sailboat in sight
In the ship’s holds, cases of organic and natural wine from Burgundy and Alsace were stored. Once the cargo is unloaded, the ship will strike for the Dominican Republic for an arrival scheduled for early June. 30 to 35 tonnes of cocoa mass plus green coffee will be stored in the bunkers. The return to the corsair city is scheduled for this summer.
The company does not intend to stop there in its “virtuous triangular trade”. “Another sailboat is being designed,” confirms Olivier Barreau. Eight to ten times the capacity. The boat will be 50 m long and as much air draft. It will be able to embark 350 tonnes of goods and will begin construction in 2022 ”.
